Meet the trustees

Alison Boddy is a primary school teacher and youth group leader who is particularly interested in maximising the community usage of the Tithe Barn. Nailsea resident.

David Francis

David Francis, Chair of Trustees,  is a social care specialist, with extensive experience of working with young people, drug and alcohol rehabilitation. He is also a lead organiser of music and arts activities in Nailsea and talented musician in his own right. Nailsea resident.

Julia Knight is a French teacher and youth group leader. She is also an eager musician and artist. Julia is keen to develop the Tithe Barn's aesthetic role throughout our community. Nailsea resident.

Barbara Calvert is a retired headteacher and has lived in Nailsea for more than 40 years.  She is keen to see the Tithe Barn become a vibrant community asset for the whole of Nailsea.

David Packham is a construction project manager who brings experience of lottery funded projects, managing the design process and controlling project costs. He is a member of Nailsea Town Council and a Nailsea resident.

Rod Lees is retired and a member of Nailsea Town Council.

He has wide experience of Property Development and is an
active member of N.E.A.T. the Nailsea Environmental and
Archaeological Team.

Pauline Daniels

Pauline Daniels is a retired accountant and lives in Nailsea.
She is the Tithe Barn Trust's treasurer.

 

Sandy Riley

Sandy Riley.jpg

Sandy Riley, a retired Senior Nurse/Care Inspector has lived in Nailsea for more than 40 years and her grandchildren attend the local schools. Sandy is leading the Nailsea Tithe Barn Oral History Project capturing the memories of
those who remember the barn in the past for the national archives.

Jolyon Trickey came to Holy Trinity Church as Rector in 2009.
A former barrister, he is married with two adult children.
He loves running, cooking and growing tomatoes!
He longs to see the Church serving the community
and to develop its partnership with the Trust in doing so.

Ian Morrell

Ian Morrell is the clerk to Nailsea Town CouncilIan Morrell.jpg
and is not a Trustee. Ian, however, provides
invaluable support to the Trustees and is an
essential member of the management team.

Nailsea Town Council also provide clerical, financial
and administrative suport for the running of the Tithe Barn.

History of the barn

Nailsea Tithe Barn dates from around 1480. It was a basic agricultural barn for storing crops taken as taxes by the Church. The Barn has since been significantly modified over 500 years, especially when it was converted to use as a school in 1789.
