The Nailsea Tithe Barn is a Grade II*
listed medieval building, dating back to the 15th
century. Architectural features include solid
pennant stone walls and a fine timber roof of
considerable historical significance.
The Nailsea Tithe Barn Trust has
been established as a Charity to raise the funds to
restore the Tithe Barn for use as a community
facility. The £1.4m project has secured £750,000
funding so far (including a Stage One Pass from
Heritage Lottery Fund which will secure a £500,000
contribution) but we need to raise a further
£200,000 by the spring of 2008.

We have launched a number of
fund raising schemes and are busily raising money.
Like any voluntary group, we need volunteers to help
with fundraising, as well as a myriad of other
things. Any help you can provide would really be
useful.
The Tithe Barn is owned by North
Somerset Council and leased to and managed by
Nailsea Town Council, working in conjunction with
local community groups, in particular Holy Trinity
Parish Church. The Trustees have been appointed to
manage the project on a day to day basis.
The Trustees plan to restore and
refurbish the building with grant aid from the
Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) English Heritage,
Nailsea Town Council, other funding bodies and local
support.
